A 30-year-old man was stabbed several times in the torso after an argument in the parking lot of Restaurant, 6917 Fayet- teville Road, about 6:30 p.m. The victim, whose injuries were seri- ous, was taken to UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill. No charges have been filed. A 46-year-old man came home to find about 10 people standing on his lawn on the 3000 block of Wedgedale Avenue about 7:30 p.m.
He asked the group to leave and an argument ensued. Police said the man was stabbed in the abdomen with a kni fe by a woman. His injuries were not life-threatening. Chimere Barbee, 24, of Sima Street, was arrested and charged with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury. She was given a $20,000 bond.
The third incident grew out of an argument inside an apartment on the 2900 block of Rochelle Street, police said. A 32-year-old man was stabbed in the abdomen about 10:20 p.m. His injuries were not life-threatening. Police did not disclose the identity of any of the stabbing victims. ORANGE COUNTY Suspect sought in bank robbery HILLSBOROUGH Police are look- ing for a man who robbed Cardi- nal State Bank, 100 S.
Churton on Friday. The man demanded money from the teller and that he had a weapon, but no weapon was according to a Hills- borough police news release. No one was injured during the robbery. According to police, the teller gave the suspect an exploding dye pack with the money. The pack exploded in a parking lot between West King Street and Margaret Lane.
The man was last seen headed west on King Street, the release said. Police ask that anyone with any information about the rob- bery call Detective June Solomon at 732-9381. BRIEFS BY STANLEY B. STAFF WRITER DURHAM A 21-year-old man was shot in the back Friday af- ternoon as he sat in the passenger seat of a sport utility vehicle in a residential neighborhood in northeast Durham, police said.
Officers were told that the SUV driver was inside the home at 2041 Buffalo Way, off Geer Street, when a gray vehicle, occupied by two men, slowly passed the house, turned around and stopped near the driveway. One person got out and started shooting. The in- tended target was not known. At least two houses were damaged by gunfire, police said. The victim, whom police did not name, was listed in critical condition at Duke Hospital on Fri- day afternoon.

Jamal Sinclair, 20, of Drew Street was shot once in the back of his right leg Thursday afternoon while crossing Alston Avenue at Drew Street.
